What Are We Overlooking When It Comes to (Peri)Menopause Symptoms?
Corafia launches a guided journal app for women in (peri)menopause, helping them connect the dots between their symptoms and everyday life
NEW YORK, NY — SEPTEMBER 2026
A 3 a.m. wake-up. An afternoon crash. Brain fog. Irritability. A hot flash.
When something changes during perimenopause or menopause, women naturally focus on whatever symptom is happening in that moment. And it can turn (peri)menopause into a game of whack-a-mole.
But what if the symptom is only one part of the story?
That question is behind Corafia, a new guided journal app for (peri)menopause.
“During my own (peri)menopause journey, I realized I was always trying to figure out whatever was bothering me in that moment,” said Corafia founder Gabriele Sewtz. “Bad sleep was a sleep problem. Feeling drained was an energy problem. Body changes were a food or exercise problem. Everything was its own thing. I wasn't looking at what else was going on.”Â
Research increasingly reflects just how individual and complex the (peri)menopause experience can be. Symptoms can occur together, change throughout the transition, and look very different from one woman to another. Much of the (peri)menopause conversation still focuses on individual symptoms and what women should do about them. Yet what works for one woman may do very little for another.
Corafia takes a different approach.Â
The Corafia app uses a science-informed structure to guide women through a few minutes of daily journaling and reflection, capturing their symptoms alongside sleep, emotions, stress, food, movement, and inner balance.
Women jot down what they experienced, what was happening around it, and what stood out to them, going beyond symptom tracking and trend lines that can look more definitive than a changing (peri)menopause experience actually is.
Over time, women have something to look back on and more context for those moments when they find themselves wondering, “What’s going on?”
“Every woman navigating (peri)menopause should have more context around her own experience and something to go on when deciding what to try, what questions to ask, or where to turn next,” Sewtz said.
Each Corafia check-in puts a (peri)menopause wellness framework into practice, building familiarity over time so it can become part of everyday choices and support habits that last.
Corafia does not diagnose symptoms, determine causation, or tell women what they should do. Corafia was created because we believe women deserve more than fragmented information and one-size-fits-all advice. They deserve a way to see their own experience as it really happens: not one symptom at a time, but as part of a bigger picture.
About Corafia
Corafia is a guided journal app for (peri)menopause designed to help women connect the dots between their symptoms and everyday life. Science-informed daily check-ins guide women to journal symptoms alongside sleep, emotions, stress, food, movement, and inner balance, while reflection prompts capture the context of their own experience.
Over time, daily check-ins come together in a dashboard, giving women something to look back on, more context, and something to go on when deciding what to do next.
Corafia is not intended to diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions and should not replace guidance from a healthcare provider.
